An indie kid at heart

I feel all the feelings. Big time. And when you listen to my music, you will too.

I’m Dea, a Belgrade-based indie singer-songwriter, songwriter, and award-winning visual artist — just a little humble brag. Music, though, has always been the thing at the very core of it all. I’ve been making my way back to it for years, and at some point I decided I wasn’t going to let that dream go.

I’ve tried a few versions of myself along the way: demos, different producers, a music duo, songs in English, songs in Serbian, you name it. But none of it quite felt like me. Eventually, I reached the very simple conclusion that maybe I should just be myself, 100%. So I found a producer who gets it, picked up my guitar, and started making the kind of music I actually want to hear. Rooted in indie rock, with touches of folk, my songs are guitar-driven, atmospheric and deliberately simple. I’m a big believer that you don’t need a complicated song structure if you have a good story to tell. Give me two chords and a story, and I’ll build from there.

And this is only the beginning. My debut EP, Kao neko ko se voli, is coming out this October, followed by more songs, more shows, festivals, and eventually a full-length album. So stick around. I’ve got a feeling we’re just getting started.
